NEXT BTF-ADRENALINA
FAIRS JUST IN A YEAR'S TIME
150 exhibitors and almost 5000 visitors
- these are the most important data of the held in
Warsaw 8th edition of the Business Tourism Fairs (BTF) -
Conference and Training Venues and Services Fairs along
with the 1st edition of the ADRENALINA International
Fairs: Events & Travel. The majority (76%) of the
exhibitors found the Fairs good or very good and almost
90% of the exhibitors found the idea of merging
conference and adrenaline fairs as brilliant. The Fairs
are becoming more and more known abroad - there were
three foreign study tours and several dozen business
clients from a dozen or so countries. For the detailed
event summary and photo report visit http://www.btf.waw.pl/
and http://www.adrenalina.waw.pl/.
Organisers warmly invite all interested to the 9th
edition of the conference-adrenaline fairs on November
16-17, 2006.
POLISH EFAPCO

On November 25-27, 2005 in Madrid there
was held the first EFAPCO (European Federation of the
Associations of Professional Congress Organizers)
General Assembly and Annual Meeting. In the meeting, on
behalf of the Polish Conference & Congress
Association that is the founding member of the EFAPCO,
took part: PCCA President - Irena Sokolowska, and
Secretary General - Slawomir Wroblewski who was also a
conference lecturer with the presentation on: "European
Union from inside - the experience of the first year of
membership - by Poland". In the board elections for the
2006-2008 that were held during the EFAPCO General
Assembly won: Julio Abreu from Spain (President),

EUROPEAN DAY OF THE PCO
We are
proud to inform you that on the initiative of the Polish
participants the EFAPCO General Assembly decided that
the day of 25th November will be celebrated as the
European Day of the Professional Congress Organiser. The
three most important aims of this action is to promote
Europe as the most attractive/prime destination for
organising international conventions, to strengthen the
meaning of the professionals specialising in congresses,
as well as to keep the market share for
PCOs.
POLAND TAKES PART IN
THE EIBTM 2005 AND IMEX 2006
The growing interest of foreign guests
in Poland as the attractive congress destination could
be seen during the EIBTM - the Global Meetings &
Incentive Exhibition that was held on 29.11-1.12.2005 in
Barcelona. Polish Tourist Organisation organised a
national 81-sqm stand that presented 13 Polish tourism
industry companies and institutions. The most
interesting were presentations of the city convention
bureaus, divided into regions promoted also traditional
Polish cuisine: mead, gingerbreads, and plums in
chocolate. As the organisers of the Polish stand
estimated, in general Polish companies held 520 business
talks and that shows a great interest of the potential
visitors in Polish tourist and convention
offer.
Preparations to the joint Polish stand
during the IMEX Fairs (Frankfurt on Main,
30.05-1.06.2006) are in progress. Warsaw has recently
hosted Tom Hulton - IMEX Fairs' Management
Representative.
INTERNATIONAL CONTACTS OF
POLISH PCOs
A group of
Polish members of the Meeting Professionals
International has joined together. In November Hannah
Pattison - the representative of the European MPI Office
in Luxemburg visited Poland. A small, 10-person group of
MPI Polish members counts on establishing contacts with
other MPI colleagues. Recently, also members of the
International Incentive Business Alliance organised
their session in Poland. In June 2006, Cracow will guest
an ICCA meeting. Talks on organising in Poland SITE and
EFAPCO annual meetings are in progress. All
interested in professional co-operation with Poland and
Eastern Europe region are welcome to
contact.
